a note from the nurse behind this

Hi — I’m Megan. Before school nursing, I worked in pediatric trauma. Nothing quite prepared me for managing complex kids while training a whole building of non-medical staff, mostly alone, with almost nothing built for this job. So I built it. Every toolkit here started as something I needed and couldn’t find — and now it’s yours, too.

About the school nurse collective

Why We Exist

School nursing is one of the most underestimated roles in education and medicine. You are the only medical professional in your building. You manage medically complex students, write healthcare plans, respond to emergencies, and train an entire staff of non-medical adults to keep those students safe — largely on your own, with limited resources and even less recognition.

The School Nurse Collective exists because that work deserves real support.

who we serve

We created this for the school nurse who is managing students with complex medical needs — g-tubes, seizure disorders, severe allergies, diabetes, asthma — and who carries the weight of making sure every adult in that building knows what to do before the emergency happens. You are not just a nurse. You are a trainer, an advocate, a planner, and often the last line of defense. This is built for you.

What we believe

We believe that prepared staff save lives. We believe that school nurses shouldn’t have to build everything from scratch. And we believe that the work you do every day — mostly unseen — is some of the most important work in any school building.
